Study on the Kidney of the Korean Fetus.

Abstract
Author investigated the renal pelvis and calyces of the 289 (a 159, 9 130) Korean fetuses with Wood¢¥s Metal casts, and got the results as follows :
1. As the three kinds of the measurements of the kidney, the length, width and thickness of the renal pelvis casts increased gradually with constant ratios as the fetal age proceeded.
The indices of the cast length, width and thickness to kidney length, width and thickness were almost constant through all fetal period.
2. The volume of the renal pelvis cast increased very rapidly as the growing of the kidney volume (or weight) and the index of the cast volume to kidney volume was fairly constand throughout the entire fetal period.
3. Among the six types of the renal pelvis form the bifurcated type was most numerous, the straight, trifurcated types were next order.
4. The number of the lesser calyces on one kidney was from 3 to 18 and 7 and 8 were most numerous, and the average mean of all kidneys was 7, 8.
5. There were 6 types of the renal formices and the round type was most numerous and then the clover-leaf type, cross type, 8 shape type were next order, the rosary type, the irregular type were very few.
6. There were no rewarkable sexual difference and bilateral difference.
7. Compared with Tatokoro¢¥s data on the Japanese fetus kidney, only the size of the renal pelvis of the Korean fetus was a little larger than Japanese during late fetal period, without ony differences in other categories.
